In 1540 bleef het Italiaans Schiereiland politiek gefragmenteerd, met grote machten waaronder de Republiek Venetië, de Pauselijke Staten, de Republiek Florence, en het Hertogdom Milaan. Na de Italiaanse Oorlogen stonden verschillende van deze staten - vooral Milaan en het Koninkrijk Napels - onder de dominantie van Karel V en de bredere Habsburgse Monarchie.
Maps came in a very well cushioned package with no damage occurring during transit. The color on the maps is nicely saturated and the maps look great on the wall.
